The official subsite for Seiji Yamada's Shin kaidan rajo daigyakusatsu: bakeneko makai shôjo-ken is online. Natsuhiko Kyôgoku is the movie's narrator (see below), and was responsible for its sound. (Kyôgoku was the yôkai casting director for, and is himself in, Takashi Miike's Yôkai daisensô. Also, Akio Jissôji's horror movie Ubume no natsu was based on his eponymous novel.) Its principal cast is as follows: Yukiko Saitani, Riko Komura, Erina Nakanishi, Teruaki Ogawa, Mikako Takahashi, Awa Mizuno (Miduno Awa), Shôichi Asano, Masashi Morii, Mikiko Yamane, Toro, Miho Amano, Yuka Sakamoto, Aiko Mori, Sumomo Uchimura, Makoto Uchida, Hiroyuki Kojima, Jun Miyahara, Kento Tamura, Jun Saitô, Ayano Sasaki, Megumi Tanaka, Uta Taira, Tomoko Okamoto, Maki Okunishi, Kan Hasui, Akane Koyama, Baranosuke Itabashi, Kenjirô Tsuda, Hirokatsu Kihara (he co-authored the Shin Mimibukuro series of books that Akio Yoshida's horror movie Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: gekijô-ban: 'yûrei manshon' is, and the omnibus horror movie Tales of Terror (Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: gekijô-ban) was, based on), Ichirô Nakayama (he co-authored the Shin Mimibukuro series of books with Kihara), Yutaka Kondô, Nômaru Abe, Norihiko Asao, Masao Higashi, Natsuhiko Kyôgoku (see above), Shun'ichi Karasawa, and Enma Itô.
At this time, there is no information regarding whether Shin kaidan rajo daigyakusatsu: bakeneko makai shôjo-ken will receive a theatrical release in Japan, nor is there any information regarding whether the DVD release of it pictured on the above left will be sold via mail-order by Yamada's Office Yurika (Ofisu Yurika). SevenEight K.K. (K.K. SebunEito), however, is scheduled to release the movie on DVD (DMC-500; NTSC, region 2, no subtitles) in Japan on September 30th - with different case art than that pictured on the above left (see here), bearing the title "Shin kaidan rajo daigyakusatsu: bakeneko shôjo makai-ken" (rather than "...makai shôjo-ken"). That DVD can be pre-ordered online from such retailers as CD Japan (Neo Wing K.K. / K.K. Neo Wingu) and Amazon Japan K.K..
