I saw this mentioned on the news this morning, the BFI (British Film Institute) top 50 films that children should watch. Not entirely the 'Top 50 films that children like watching' but a list compiled by adults (i think, but at least those with children) of what they think children should see. Dangerous path, as I am not sure how many families will survive enforced viewing of Francois Truffaut movies. Or many of the others for example. But there are many in there that are clearly well chosen.
