Is It Just Me, Or Does Guy Pearce Sound Exactly Like John Hurt In This PROMETHEUS Viral?
Seeing as though there's plenty of freewheeling speculation about the plot of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, and its clear links to the Alien storylines, I'm sure there's room for some more.

Based on this just-released clip, a recording of a future TED2023 talk given by Guy Pearce's corporate character Peter Weyland (who presumably is one-half of the fictional Weyland-Yutani corporation from Alien) I'm going to start mindlessly speculating as to why he sounds exactly like John Hurt. During his career Guy Pearce has played plenty of Englishmen, from all areas and with all accents, so why did he (or Ridley) choose an accent so damn close to John Hurt's -- who played Kane in the original Alien

Or maybe one of the future innovations patented by Weyland Industries will be to archive John Hurt's voice and sell voicebox implants to wealthy entrepreneurs. Aha!
