UK Trailer For Lars Von Trier's MELANCHOLIA

My own personal feelings for Lars Von Trier's Melancholia aside - much as I love the vast majority of the man's work I find this one insufferably self absorbed and say why in detail in my review here - the simple fact is that this is one of the buzz titles of the year. It was before the film premiered in Cannes and became doubly so after Von Trier publicly inserted his foot into his mouth and was run out of town.

The initial trailer for the picture was released leading up to the premiere and, for a good long while now, that has remained the only trailer released but with the UK theatrical run beginning September 30th the official UK trailer appeared yesterday to put a slightly different spin on things than did the original.

Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and brother-in-law (Kiefer Sutherland). Meanwhile, the planet, Melancholia, is heading towards Earth... MELANCHOLIA is a psychological disaster movie from director Lars von Trier.
