WINCHESTER: Jason Clarke Joins Helen Mirren in Spierig Brothers' Haunter
Variety is reporting that Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty and Dawn of the Plant of the Apes) is in talks to join Helen Mirren in Winchester, the next from The Spierig Brothers.

The film follows firearm heiress Sarah Winchester (Mirren), who’s convinced that she’s haunted by the souls killed at the hands of the Winchester repeating rifle. After the sudden deaths of her husband and child, she throws herself into the construction of an enormous mansion designed to keep the evil spirits at bay. But when skeptical San Francisco psychiatrist Eric Price (Clarke) is dispatched to the estate to evaluate her state of mind, he discovers that her obsession may not be so insane after all.

Technically proficient directors, The Spierig Brothers have been genre film favorites since their outrageous feature debut Undead. They have built on their fanbase with solid contributions like the vampire flick Daybreakers and the timey wimey flick Predestination. They will be directing a screenplay they re-wrote from Tom Vaughan's original attempt.
