The Many Faces Of Chris Cooper

Among the fine films opening wide this week in North America is Jean-Marc Vallée's Demolition, which knocked out Jason Gorber (his words). It sure has a stellar cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper. We could have picked any of these for this quiz, but in the end we chose Chris.

If Chris Cooper has a superpower it is how unassuming he looks. At no point do you think you're watching a great actor, he just seems like "one of the REAL people" the casting director must have let participate. Yet give him the material and he'll absolutely floor you with his performance.

So once again I'm going to use ten pictures of one of my favourite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images, and guess which movies or shows they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb!

And I'll post the answers next Thursday, or earlier if someone gets all of them right...

Dustin Chang, Kurt Halfyard and Stuart Muller contributed to this story.

And here he is, as the grieving Phil Eastwood, in Demolition.

This one doesn't count yet for the quiz, but all others do, so please browse through the gallery: click on the edge of the picture to get the next one, and see how many of them all you can identify!

Gonna guess American Beauty for #7? Every time I see Chris Cooper, it's the role I'm reminded of.

Everything correct bar number 7 and 6! Well.. I'm gonna give you 6 anyway as it's a bit of a trap (it was the blink-and-you-miss-it shot from BOURNE SUPREMACY). That just leaves 7...

Ard VijnApril 8, 2016 10:44 AM

And that's 7...
Well done, that finishes the quiz already!

Good stuff. Only reason I knew it was a Bourne film was because the characters name is in the photo. At first I thought it was Breach
