FRONTIÈRES@BRUSSELS Announces Co-production Market Lineup
As the market season kicks off elsewhere in the world it is time to announce the lineup of projects participating in the co-production market in Frontieres at Brussels. One of the few co-production markets whose sole focus is on developing genre film Frontieres has quickly become one of the most sought after markets to present your film in. With annual markets in the Spring in Brussels and in the Summer in Montreal there is ample opportunity for filmmakers, producers, buyers and sellers to meet with folk of their own ilk and help bring more crazy cinema into this world.

Which brings us to this year's edition in Brussels. The market has announced the twenty titles that will be participating this year during the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival at the end of March.

There are some familiar names in the group. Baskin's Can Evrenol is pitching a new project as well as 78/52 director Alexandre O. Philippe. Casey Walker, producer of inevitable cult smash The Void is helping with another project, as is genre statesman Larry Fessenden. And there are a handful of Canadian filmmakers hoping to make valuable connections and partnerships during the market including Empyrean's Thomas Robert Lee, whose new project we should be able to get a look at when we are in Montreal this July.

After receiving a record number of submissions, Frontières marks its return to the heart of Europe with 20 selected projects from Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Frontières@Brussels 2016 features an extremely strong cross-section of projects from emerging and established filmmakers. Participants include director Can Evrenol (BASKIN), producer Giles Daoust (STARRY EYES), producer Amy Darling (VIOLENT), director Alexandre Philippe (THE PEOPLE VS GEORGE LUCAS, DOC OF THE DEAD) director Aaron Schimberg (GO DOWN DEATH), producer François Cognard (THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY'S TEARS, PAINLESS) executive producer Gil Kenan (MONSTER HOUSE, POLTERGEIST - 2015), director Glenn McQuaid (I SELL THE DEAD) and producers Larry Fessenden and Peter Phok (THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, STAKELAND, THE INNKEEPERS). .
