Raven Banner Bangs Heads With DEATHGASM And I AM THOR
Those plucky lads at Raven Banner Entertainment are at it again. The Toronto based production company have picked up two festival faves, kiwi horror comedy Deathgasm and metal doc I Am Thor, for distribution here in Canada.

for DEATHGASM, I AM THOR

Ahead of its Closing night screening at Toronto After Dark Film Festival, genre specialist Raven Banner has landed Canadian distribution rights to Jason Lei Howden's DEATHGASM

In the vein Kiwi splatter horror Dead Alive, DEATHGASM is about two high school misfits and heavy metal fans who perform an ancient piece of music and inadvertently open the gates of hell.

The company has also picked up metal documentary I AM THOR, directed by Ryan Wise, which chronicles the life of former competitive body builder-turned-heavy metal superstar Jon Mikl Thor. Both films will be released theatrically across Canada.

The deal for both titles was negotiated by Michael Paszt and James Fler for Raven Banner, and MPI's VP of Sales Nicola Goelzhaeuser.

I have yet to see I Am Thor but Deathgasm is terrific stuff. I may just make the trek in town on Friday to see it with the TADFF crowd, before catching up with Howden in Puebla, Mexico when it plays at Morbido.
