Pretty Packaging: SPACE DANDY SEASON 2 Brings More Bling, Baby!

Editor, Europe; Rotterdam, The Netherlands (@ardvark23)
Earlier this year, Scottish distributor Anime Ltd. released the first 13 episodes of Space Dandy, Watanabe Shinichirô's unbelievably irreverent yet unbelievably good-looking series. At the time I mentioned what a nice catch it was for the young company, and how thrilled I was about the great packaging job their Limited Edition had.

Now that I've actually watched the series, I've sobered up a bit on it. This sure will not be to everyone's taste, it is that kind of series. Personally, it is my least favorite Watanabe Shinichirô anime, except for a mere handful of episodes which (I think) are pretty damn great. Rest assured I will be writing a review, but know that Space Dandy is so eclectic that your opinion might (and probably will) be totally different from mine.

But all of that doesn't take away from the series' stellar packaging job. Anime Ltd. has released the second boxset of Space Dandy, and it is about as great as the first one was. The artbook is a bit smaller this time (146 pages instead of 196), but you get a quite fancy stack of art cards with it.

Therefore, here is a gallery of shots. Click on the edge of the pictures to scroll through them, or at the center of one to see a bigger version.

And here it is: a big box with a slipcase, instead of the wrapper used for the previous boxset.
