Already earning raves after its debut at the Telluride Film Festival, Lenny Abrahamson's Room will soon play at the Toronto International Film Festival before opening in New York and Los Angeles on October 16.
Brie Larson stars as a young woman living in a very small, one-room underground facility with her child, locked up for years by a nasty captor. Our own Jason Gorber concluded his review thusly:
Room is a delight, a film both thoughtful and moving, with at times an astonishing capacity to get under one's skin. It's a thrilling thriller and a weep-worthy character piece, all wrapped into one, and all the better for its ambition and its execution.
As noted, the film opens in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 16 and will then open nationwide on November 6. You can watch a new trailer below, which starts where the previous trailer left off: what happens after mother and child get out of the box?
