There has been a surge in high end, boundary blurring, artistic horror out of Europe in recent years with pictures like Let The Right One In representing the beginning of a wave that has carried through in the intervening years to titles like Goodnight Mommy, pictures equally at home on the genre circuit or in the high end arthouse thanks to their deft balance of visceral energy and human insight.And it would appear that Marcin Wrona's Demon is a likely entry into that particular canon in 2015.

A bridegroom is possessed by an unquiet spirit in the midst of his own wedding celebration, in this clever take on the Jewish legend of the dybbuk.
The Poland / Israel co-production has its world premiere in the Vanguard program at the Toronto International Film Festival and the good folk at Indiewire have just premiered the very compelling - and NSFW - trailer for the film earlier today. Check it out below.
