While it's hard to get too specific with English language information on the film - the never reliable Google Translate is exceptionally poor in its handling of Turkish - the story is set in a Turkish town that was the site of Russian experimentation into psychic phenomenon thirty years earlier, with women and children being particular targets of that experimentation.
