First Trailer for NOBODY WANTS THE NIGHT: Cold Land, Warm Hearts
Isabel Coixet's new film Nobody Wants the Night will open Berlinale next month, and we have the first trailer. Starring Juliette Binoche, Gabriel Byrne and Rinko Kukuchi, it gives more information about the plot.

Set in 1908, Binoche plays Josephine Peary, who sets out on a perilous journey to the Arctic north to search for her missing husband. She is aided by Bram Trevor (Byrne), who appears to be a white tracker/trapper, giving constant warnings of the futility of the trip. Peary forms a bond with an Inuit woman, Allaka (Kukuchi) as braves the unforgiving landscape.

Filmed in Norway and Tenerife, it looks to be an interesting twist on both adventure epics and survival tales, especially given the female leads (usually women are the ones who stay home). Binoche is undoubtedly one of the world's best actors, and Kukuchi continues to show her own merit with an eclectic resumé. I think I'll bring a sweater to the screening, I got cold just watching this.
