The Many Faces Of Nicholas Tse

Editor, Europe; Rotterdam, The Netherlands (@ardvark23)
This week, the Chinese drama But Always (aka. Yi Sheng Yi Shi) premieres in several countries worldwide, including the USA. A lengthy description of a doomed romance, it stars Gao Yuanyuan and Nicholas Tse as the star-crossed lovers. James reviewed it earlier this week.

While Nicholas Tse is an undisputed superstar in China, he has yet to make an impression as "just" a romantic lead. But he sure has earned his stripes as a believable tough guy, showing impressive martial art skills, a menacing charisma as a villain, and when called for, he is even capable of good comedic timing when necessary.

Therefore, once again I'm going to use a gallery of thirteen close-ups to make a quiz, so click through the images and guess which movies they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb.

And I'll post the answers on Thursday, unless they have all thirteen been identified already!

James Marsh contributed to this story.

And here he is as romantic protagonist Yongyuan in But Always.

This shot doesn't count yet as part of the quiz, but all the next ones do. So flick through the gallery and have a go!
