Hey Australia And New Zealand! Win Awesome Anime From Hanabee!
It's been almost two years since Hanabee made its public launch, and within this short time, the Australian anime distributor has already developed an amazing catalogue of titles that are both varied and exciting, and includes such fan favorites as Toradora!, Anohana, Bakemonogatari, Girls and Panzer, and Lupin The Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.

To celebrate its second birthday, Hanabee is giving you, our dear readers, the chance to win one or more of its releases:

First prize: One winner will win three of the available titles from Hanabee's web store.

Runner-up prizes: Two winners will each win one of the available titles from Hanabee's web store.

For a chance to win, all you have to do is to follow these three simple steps:

1) Write captions for the images below
2) Sign up as a Hanabee member, which you can do by clicking here
3) Email your answer, name and postal address to me at: hugo[at]screenanarchy.com

Our competition will close at 3:00 p.m. on Monday April 7. --- Good luck!

When will you announce the winners, so that everyone else can be sad?

Hugo OzmanApril 10, 2014 6:24 AM

Hi skittles,
I am in the process of collating all the responses, and will soon be forwarding them to Hanabee so that the winners can be chosen. Thank you for your patience, and good luck!
Hugo

Choose wisely ;) *nudge nudge*

Mr.CreeperApril 13, 2014 1:07 AM

I'm eager to see if i have won, when will the winners be announced?

Hugo OzmanApril 13, 2014 1:25 AM

Hi Mr.Creeper,
I have already sent all the responses to Hanabee and they are deciding on the winners for this competition. Good luck!
Hugo

Mr.CreeperApril 13, 2014 1:56 AM

*high five* for your efforts even if I don't win.

Mr.CreeperApril 13, 2014 2:54 AM

Just out of curiosity how many submissions where there?

Hugo OzmanApril 13, 2014 4:25 AM

I'm afraid I can't disclose the number, but let's just say there were more than a few entries. ; ) And high five and thanks!

Mr.CreeperApril 14, 2014 12:21 AM

Ahh the suspense is killing me, not literally...

Peter FlynnApril 15, 2014 3:06 AM

Someone poke Hanabee and tell them to choose a winner before I rip my hair out

Mr.CreeperApril 21, 2014 3:30 AM

I don't mean to annoy you or get on your back but are they going to announce the winners or just contact them directly?

Hugo OzmanApril 21, 2014 7:53 AM

I'm not sure what Hanabee is planning to do, and have emailed them to find out. Will let you know once I hear back!

Hugo OzmanApril 21, 2014 9:15 PM

Hi again Mr. Creeper,
The good people at Hanabee have told me that they will be announcing the winners publicly this week. So you will be finding out if you have won soon...

Mr.CreeperApril 21, 2014 10:42 PM

Thanks Hugo :)

Mr.CreeperApril 21, 2014 10:43 PM

Marvelous, I bet i'm not the only one wanting to know who the winners are.

PikawonderApril 29, 2014 7:52 AM

Tic-Toc-Tic-Toc :(

skittlesApril 30, 2014 6:28 AM

Toc-Tic-Toc-Tic

Though to be honest Hanabee's track record with comp's is terrible in terms of response time. Even when they ran comp's a year or so ago where it was as simple as stuffing a bunch of names into a random generator (when the list of names was literally only like 12 people) they took weeks and weeks to actually do it. So when they actually have to select a response, out of what sounds like quite a few, expect a long loooonnnng wait.

I did actually think this was run by Twitch hence why I asked for a date for response. When I heard it had been sent off to Hanabee I gave up hope of a timely draw. ;P

Hugo OzmanApril 30, 2014 9:01 AM

Guys, I came up with the idea of running a comp with Hanabee to celebrate their 2nd birthday, and the guys at Hanabee asked to be the ones judging it. Since they're the ones giving out the prizes, I was happy to go with it, just so that I could get you some good prizes!

PikawonderApril 30, 2014 5:30 PM

Don't get us wrong. You have done good :)
It is just Hanabee that needs a nudge forward

PikawonderApril 30, 2014 5:36 PM

Maybe a bit of a hard push forward...

skittlesMay 1, 2014 8:07 AM

Like others have said not placing any blame anywhere. My post was meant to be informative more than anything, simply saying we might be in for a wait. Don't feel I am being negative, even if I have to wait I love comps, free stuff rules! ;)

PikawonderMay 3, 2014 2:33 AM

I think we are at the point where Hanabee will ignore this competition and not announce the winners.
Hugo I think you should pick the best entries (10-20 if there are even that many) and just help Hanabee so all they have to do is view as least as possible. Then they may stop leaving it and do something

Hugo OzmanMay 3, 2014 7:37 AM

Pikawonder, I've just sent Hanabee another email about announcing the winners. Hope you get to find out really soon. Once again, thanks for your patience. And sorry that you and all the other entrants have had to wait so long...

PikawonderMay 3, 2014 11:48 PM

Awesome, let us know what they say?

Hugo OzmanMay 4, 2014 3:03 AM

Sure thing, Pikawonder! Haven't heard anything yet...

PikawonderMay 4, 2014 10:46 PM

Any news?

Hugo OzmanMay 4, 2014 11:33 PM

Not yet.

skittlesMay 5, 2014 3:41 AM

No reason to be too antsy about it, Hanabee have never 'ignored' a competition, nor will they. Taking a long time is another matter. I am guessing you probably would like to use the store voucher on one of the May 7th titles. ;P

Unfortunately, I seriously would not expect anything for at least another week or two, probably June. If it is bugging you, spamming their facebook or email info@hanabee.com.au would likely help better than here.

Hugo OzmanMay 5, 2014 6:00 AM

Hey guys,
One of the beautiful girls at Hanabee replied that she would attend to this tomorrow.
Hugo : )

PikawonderMay 5, 2014 7:44 AM

Yay for beautiful girls!

ZiMay 5, 2014 8:24 PM

Wow look at this thread!

Apologies everyone!

Just letting you know that when we first received the entries we printed them all out and we actually have a few stuck to our fridge. Thank you from all of us for sharing your entries, giving us a chuckle and being so persistent in getting some Hanabee anime!

Big thank you to Hugo for suggesting the idea and organising this!!

The winners are!!! *DRUMROLL*

FIRST PRIZE:
Michael Mason

RUNNER UP PRIZES:
Nathan Wong
Cheun Chan

Winners have been emailed by myself and prizes will be sent straight from us.

Again guys, sincere apologies, It's no excuse but we have been generally swamped with Conventions in April and only just back back to a normal schedule as of last week. Only merit from this is that the winners have more to select from in the store now!

We look forward to running more competition in the future. Thanks for your support!

PikawonderMay 5, 2014 10:06 PM

Congratz to the winners :)
