Tom Hardy In Talks To Play Legendary Twin Gangsters
LA Confidential writer Brian Helgeland is looking to bring the story of twin London gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray to the big screen as writer and director of Legend, and he's got a star in mind to do it. Screen are reporting that Tom Hardy is in talks to play the identical twin brothers who gained infamy throughout the 50s and 60s before being arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1968. Should he sign on, Hardy will play both brothers with production aiming to start in London later this year.

Hardy pulling off a Jeremy Irons/Dead Ringers take on the Kray brothers could be amazing. While not tops in terms of production I think Peter Medak's _the Krays_ is an interesting, stylized take on the twins - especially the Spandau Ballet brothers taking on the roles of Ronald and Reginald Kray.

The best movie about the Krays and their world is "Performance" -- which was made while they were still alive and kicking. Also "Love is The Devil" the Francis Bacon biopic -- Bacon's lover George was a Kray thug. There was a film a number of years back called "The Krays" that used actors who weren't twins. It wasn't very good.

Is _performance_ the flick w/ Mick Jagger and James Fox? _Love is the Devil_ is great. Like the camera work which would distort images to mirror some of Bacon's imagery.

Yes, "Performance" is th one with Jagger and James Fox.
