Wonder Woman Fan Film Wows!!
This is...well...wonderful to say the least. In an age where fan films abound this one takes on a subject everybody would like to see on the big screen and makes it seem super credible. Courtesy of Rainfall Films I give you Wonder Woman.

it will suck, I Watch the trailer and its bad, really bad, and I dont want to talk about the choice of the actress but come on you can make a better choice.

  • Lysander

I'm sorry to say this but no, it's not wonderful. I'm sure they put effort into this but not enough to be called wonderful. Part of it would have to be the editing and cinematography, I think. And why the heck is the entire clip filmed in slow motion? It's a mood killer.

They made it dull and plodding. A pair of fight scenes shouldn't be boring, and yet they achieved this.

This may be a radical notion, but perhaps we should try to cast someone that looks Greek, or at least from somewhere in the Mediterranean. Come on, it wouldn't be difficult.

hmm, good concept and the visuals were excellent I would pay to watch the movie!

  • Gary Rayner

People will be cumming in droves to see the porn parody that will most assuredly follow the release.

  • Pa Kent Says Maybe

Just looks like Zack Snyder, only less frat-boy / more sorority sister.
    Still, you know...gay.

  • FDB

Yeah, I don't think the hesitation is that no one can imagine a woman wearing a costume and beating people up or standing around in CGI faux-ruins with CGI monsters running at her. The question has always been what do they DO with the character from a story perspective: how do they handle her so that she comes across both powerful and accessible a la Tony Stark. Offering a video with zero dialogue or narrative doesn't really help matters. Mostly, I fear studio executives will watch this and then say "Yeah, so she walks on screen, punches some people, flies off. And THEN what? THIS is our conundrum!"

It seems that all the comments are from Hipster's or Hipster wannabees . I found the video to be gorgeous and it brought about some attention for Wonder Woman and for Rainfall Video... Bravo. I would love to see Wonder Woman adapted to the big screen, we are about to have 4 transformer movies. If Ben Affleck can be both Daredevil and Batman its time for a gorgeous woman to show us what Wonder woman can do on the big screen.

  • Kevin Blankenship

With a detailed storyline that makes it 21st century, it would be Good!

  • Pa Kent Says Maybe

What are you talking about? Jebus, dude. Check your supplements. You're starting to sound like a balloon.

  • WhyOfFry

All these comments nagging about how contemporary stylish and how commercial it is...

You blame an unknown crew for making something commercial. What did you expect? An art film with Wonder Woman eating herself to find her feminity in her uterus and giving birth to herself, thus creating a new Wonder Woman, free of the limitations of gender? I expected cheap rubber in a backyard. So yeah, I'm "wowed".

Not even 1/10 of you would have watched this if it didn't feature a popular comic figure. And I have to say, I don't give a shit about Wonder Woman, but all these negative comments made me curious... so....... thanks?

  • Pa Kent Says Maybe

    You're welcome?

  • Martin Wagner

I'd have been happy just to see something that wasn't imitation Zack Snyder. Of all the filmmakers anyone could imitate, why him?

Still, I'd totally see that art film concept you described.

  • mmvm

I think it's a great piece of work, you guys do better.

  • Qinlong

This simply looks ridiculous as hell. Sure the production values are impressive for a fan film, but just like the studios it's trying to teach a lesson to, it thinks dark + slow-mo+Hans ZImmer-style music makes anything looks powerful and 'gritty'. It does not ; it just amplifies the cheese factor by injecting it with an unwelcome dose of self-seriousness. I mean, good job on the special effects, but no thanks.

"Wows!" - is a little bit over-exaggerated. I do think it's worthy of a mention since it's not a big production movie but not enough to make me want to see a Wonder Woman movie (Yeah the 'everybody would like to see on the big screen' is also a little bit over-exaggerated).

Marvel heroes translate better to the big screen than DC super-heroes. Superman is always a hard subject to do properly, just look at the recent Singer and Snyder movies. Singer had the best flying effects, great visual shot of Superman taking the bullet in the eye but fell way short of a movie worthy of the character's legend, then Snyder made a movie about Kal-El yet not Kal-El since most of it is ridiculously filled with plot holes or special effects worthy of a video game that's on steroids so you can barely see, or believe, that the guy can fly, not to mention the stupid relationship between Clark and Lois who's pushed right in our faces because they just have to kiss at one point...

Look at Green Lantern, most people blame Ryan Reynolds for the failure of this one, they want him replaced for the next one or the Justice League movie. At the end of the day, the character just doesn't have enough behind it to properly translate to an hour and a half movie. The story failed it, not the actor. The Director didn't give it it's direction and the screenwriters just couldn't make it all fit appropriately.

Same with Wonder Woman. They've been battling for so many years now trying to figure out how she can fit inside a movie, and it doesn't work. They tried to bring back the TV Series, again failed. I think the best bet for Warner to do anything with her is actually go the Smallville/Arrow way. A strip down (pun intended) version of the character who's thrown into our world. They're doing it for Flash, why not go for it also for Wonder Woman?

Even if Arrow is incredibly cheesy with the 3 facial expressions of the lead and is constant sighs of relief, and always having his two friends in the middle of some scheme, it still works since we don't expect anything from a TV Show that could measure up to movie standards.

Again, DC heroes just translate better on the small screen, maybe as a whole team it could work on the big screen, yet again they have been trying for years to make it work and have failed. So much that now they're about to join the two only Heroes they have that worked on screen, together in one movie to see if they could bring in the rest of their world into it.

Personally, WB should start thinking about the 8pm time slot from Monday to Friday on the CW and make it the "Hero Hour" (yeah talk about cheesy titles) and make heroes tv series every day. This is the only way they could actually sell the heroes back into the world and hype-up a JL movie with characters that can dish it out and make us forget Plastic Man.

Here is what my lineup would look like:
    Mon - Arrow;
    Tues - Flash;
    Wed - Wonder Woman;
    Thurs - Firestorm; and
    FRI - Nightwing.

  • Bos

coz we don't have enough superheroes crap movies from hollywood...we need from underground directors too now...

  • Omar Hauksson

I wouldn't go so far as to say that "everyone" would like to see Wonder Woman on the big screen, which is probably the reason it hasn't happened yet despite many attempts.

  • CJ

This would be a good trailer for a video game.

  • Martin Wagner

The actress is lovely, but everyone needs to quit doing that slow-fast-slow Zack Snyder thing, stat.

  • Honest Abe

go back to jerking it to pony videos, nerds

  • Lysander

You don't seem old enough to post here. Perhaps you should go back to Youtube?

  • plazmaorb

sounds like you are deflecting your life in your statement

  • Honest Abe

sounds like you don't know words shitnerd

  • 60hz

yeah a bit overrated, i can't wait 'til slo-mo goes out of vogue... this short would've been half the length if filmed at regular speed! And since when does wonder-woman fly???

i like this take on WW tho: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

  • Jordan E-Danger

She has been able to fly for 20 or 30 years, now.
I agree, tho. Excessive use of slow-mo.

  • 60hz

ah well that makes sense since i havent peeped a WW since 80s

  • VyceVictus

This looks more hackneyed than that God of War Ascension commercial. Production value notwithstanding, this is not worth a fraction of the praise it's getting.

  • Mehaillien Thundercross

That was the best car commercial I've seen in ages; the absence of any vehicle is a bit counter intuitive, though.

  • Doigt DuPeuple

    MOUAHAHAAH!!! Good one!!
