Second MACHETE KILLS Trailer Just Feels Tired
Hands up everybody who wants to watch Robert Rodriguez make Twitter jokes while nicking visual gags from Black Dynamite! No? Nobody? Well, then, don't bother watching the new Machete Kills trailer because that's about all it has to offer, which is supremely disappointing from a project like this with a director granted ample budget and near total freedom to do what he wants.

Yes, you get a lot of new Mel Gibson footage here if that's your bag, but months before the film hits screens it feels as though it may have already blown out all the best bits in the first trailer. Meh.

More about Machete Kills

For me, Rodriguez would really have to f%&* anything with Trejo involved up so very badly that it would be completely and utterly unwatchable. I've still yet to find a more perfect example of casting than his role as Navajas.

I actually like this trailer better than the first one. But seriously who the fuck cares about Machete where's Sin City 2?

  • Duncan O'Reilly

Introducing Carlos Estevez! That's the best part of the trailer.

Now if the kids could just get daddy on board.

  • Fub Frank

I was actually looking forward to the first one and turned out to end up not liking it at all. As soon as Charlie Sheen showed up on the trailer I almost lost all interest, he just seems terrible. I am curious to see how Lady Gaga does, though.

For this type of movie, the trailer looks fine, i'm sure i'll have a good time with it.

  • hutch

Seems kind of...strained...contrived. Like RR was watching crazy Asian flicks and going through a rolodex of actors with PR problems simultaneously.

  • Cobra65

Your a fagg the guy who wrote this, plus ill be supporting this film because it looks badass

  • I'm framing this and putting it on my wall as an exemplar of everything about everything on the internet.

  • hutch

Do you think when directors/steal/borrow/use other people's idea (blatantly) in their own projects that they are still excited at the idea when they see it? I'm actually curious, not being snarky. Do they go "Oh! that's so badass!"? Is there guilt? Or do they just bask in the glory if their audience isn't familiar with the gag or call it "homage" if they called out? What do you know about this, Mr. Brown?

  • I think that varies wildly depending on the director in question.

  • hutch

mmm kay. Then the obvious ones would be RR & QT. Just curious.

I really don't know why complain...i loved the first Machete and this trailer is simply great, it looks like another valid b-movie trash fully enjoyable is coming!

very disappointed to hear this was the headliner for fantastic fest this year - didn't think it could get duller than Frankenweenie.
