Mel Gibson Confirmed As EXPENDABLES 3 Villain
Long-rumoured to be joining the star-studded action franchise, Australian wild man Mel Gibson appears to have been confirmed as the main villain in next year's The Expendables 3. Sylvester Stallone, the series' star and creator, left a not-very-cryptic message on Twitter, referencing his own character and one made famous by the antipodean star:

Gibson will join Expendables regulars Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li, as well as returning member Mickey Rourke (together quite possibly with cameos from Bruce Willis and/or Arnold Schwarzenegger) and newcomers Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich, in what is shaping up to be the best line-up the franchise has seen so far. There are also rumours that Steven Seagal might also make an appearance. The Expendables 3 is being directed by Red Hill helmer Patrick Hughes, and is due to arrive on screens in August 2014.
