It Sucks To Be Earth-Bound In New Extended ELYSIUM Trailer
A new extended trailer for Elysium is here and it features more of everything we want out of this film. We get more robots. We get more of Matt Damon's character Max, and his story on Earth, and the accident that sets this story in motion so we know why he has to get to Elysium.

We get more of Sharlto Copley as Kruger and the suggestion that he may also be enhanced in some fashion ("Activate Kruger!"). Just more of everything to make us pine for this film even more. There are even a few scant glimpses of William Fichtner tossed into the mix. And we have to wait until August 9th for all of this to come together into a big gleeful package!

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet's crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium - but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens' luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance bring equality to these worlds is Max, an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission - one that pits him against Elysium's Secretary Delacourt and her hard-line forces - but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

Trailer looks amazing, i hope Bloomkamp has pulled this off, i will be there on opening weekend...

  • Shelagh M. Rowan-Legg

So apparently I'm alone in finding this trailer just the same old same old. I have faith in Blomkamp, so will probably still see it, but this isn't helping. I'm hoping that the trailer was cut by someone who wants to get in the teenager crowd, and that the film is much more deep and rich than this.

  • Omar Hauksson

The editing of the trailer was superb. Great build up. But I'm guessing the actual film isn't as action packed as the trailer indicates.

  • Shelagh M. Rowan-Legg

Sorry, I should have been more clear, it is a well done trailer, I was referring to the content. The narrative looks cliche. But, as I said, I'll keep my faith in Blomkamp.

  • Snoop Lion

I'm with Shelagh. It looks same. same. (as Gob would say)

  • Omar Hauksson

    Hoooleeeee shit this looks incredible.
