New Poster For Balaguero's [REC]4: APOCALYPSE
With Cannes around the corner the deep thinkers at Spanish production company Filmax want to let people know that their super-popular horror franchise [REC] hasn't wrapped up just yet. Series co-creator Jaume Balaguero is hard at work on the fourth and final installment - [REC]4: Apocalypse - which is expected to pick up the story from where [REC]2 left off and carry it through to its bloody end. And while there's no new footage just yet there is a new poster ready. And that's it up above.

Ah, so things are finally coming around. I thought the last movie ruined any plans for more.

The REC movies are becoming the Spanish equivalent of the American SAW franchise. The concept is getting milked to death and each movie is progressively worse than the previous one.

I hope Jaume Balaguero can not just bring us a new Rec film which stands up to the first two, but I also hope he brings in what Rec3 promised us and failed to deliver.

Rec3 hype was all about explaining the origins of where the supernatural/virus/possession type infection came from, yet Rec3 failed not only at doing that, but also as a Rec film. I guess we know which of the directors had the talent when it came to the Rec films, it certainly wasn't Paco Plaza. After experiencing Rec3, I'm going to be staying away from anything with his name in it as a solo job.

So Jaume Balaguero is back at the helm. I have high hopes and I pray he delivers. He should just call his new film Rec3 and forget that Paco's version even exists.

Don't let us down Jaume!
