The Stack March Episode One: WESTWORLD Finally Hits Blu, Plus ELM STREET Films, SCHINDLER'S LIST, PHANTASM II, And More

Contributor; Chicago, Illinois
Welcome Back to The Stack! They say March comes in like a lion and in this case I'm inclined to agree. This turned out to be one of my most fun months ever.

The 70s sci-fi dystopian classic Westworld hit Blu, as did virtually the entire Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise. Shout Factory released From Beyond and Phantasm II Blu SEs. Indomina, though they are sadly going under, still shot me out a copy of the magnificent Holy Motors. I was able to revisit the high hilarity gross out Thou Shall Not Kill...Except!, starring none other than Sam Raimi as a miscast Manson wannabe. Mimesis was a tiny bit of a letdown but ultimately redeemed itself by grabbing the genre and giving it a decent meta-twist.

Wreck-It-Ralph, one of my favorite animated movies of the year, came in a holographic combo pack. Lastly and literally, just before shooting this I was able to check out Schindler's List, finally available on Blu-ray and looking stunning. Phew!
