Things Look Grim In Dark Border Drama LA VIDA PRECOZ Y BREV DE SABINA RIVAS
Though there is much, much more to Mexico than Narco gangs and border issues there's also no denying that those two issues loom large over everyday life in some territories. And director Luis Mandoki looks to be wading right into the thorny topics with his new film La Vida Precoz y Brev de Sabina Rivas.

Set along the Mexican border with Guatemala the film follows the travails of a young girl who dreams of crossing into the US to become a singer. It doesn't go well, of course, and Mandoki manages to capture it on screen with grit, style and what looks like a fairly neat balance between intimacy and scope. Check out the very impressive trailer below.

Yeah, I think they need to reconsider that poster. The movie looks like a great and edgy drama, but the artwork screams wacky spring break sex comedy.

No kidding. I actually searched around to see if there was other art out there assuming this had to be some sort of temp art but nope.
