The words 'Cuba' and 'science fiction' are, admittedly, not ones that seem like the most obvious of friends. Throw a bit of 'Kurosawa-inspired'and it seems even more unlikely. And yet that is exactly what we have in Tomas Piard's latest effort Los Desastres De La Guerra
. While plot specifics are difficult to come by the picture is clearly a post apocalyptic work, one which Piard describes as influenced by Kurosawa's Seven Samurai
, though Goya's famous painting is an obvious touchstone as well.
