First Shots From Ayoade's THE DOUBLE
Jesse Eisenberg is poised to have a very strange 2013, one split between two very different projects. On the big, mainstream side of things there's the Louis Leterrier magician caper film Now You See Me. And on the interesting side of things there is his starring role in The Double, the sophomore effort from Submarine helmer Richard Ayoade.

Based on a Dostoevsky short story, "The Double is the comic story of an insignificant man driven to near breakdown by the appearance of his doppelganger. Funny, frightening and dream-like, the film will reflect on loneliness and our need to love and be loved."

No, it's not the most exciting synopsis in the world but Ayoade is simply a fabulous talent and the cast in this - Mia Wasikowska, Wallace Shawn, Noah Taylor - is simply spectacular. And now we have the first pair of images to take a look at. Based on the concept and Ayoade's comic / music video history something along the lines of Michel Gondry may have been expected but things are looking quite different.
