It's Crowe VS. Wahlberg In The Trailer For BROKEN CITY
Allen Hughes, one half of the brotherly duo behind the 2002 From Hell adaption, is stepping out on his own for Broken City, Hollywood's latest cinematic spin on the world of regional politics, scandals and just general douche-baggery and/or bad-assery. Russel Crowe plays the seemingly beloved mayor of New York, who hires ex-cop Mark Wahlberg to tail his wife (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones), whom he thinks is having an affair. Now with a title like Broken City you just know that's the plot to get things crumbling even further. From the looks of this first trailer it really feels like both Wahlberg and Crowe could do these kinds of roles in their sleep, though they also appear to be bringing their usual level of brevity, which is perhaps enough to make real mayors and cops either piss their pants or laugh until they piss their pants. Also of note: There are some rather choice shots of New York bridges -- oh yeah.

Broken City releases in the US on January 18th, 2013.
