Giant Octopus To Aisle 9! BAIT Scares Up Sequel
Indeed it's had such great international success that a sequel has been announced by the producers at Arclight Films.
Industry pundits have been fairly morose about the box office returns of Bait in its home country, where the movie has made $775,000 in two weeks - of course these hindsight experts have conveniently forgotten that big Aussie genre films were making far less five years ago.
Internationally it's had a much healthier run, and is due to open in China across approximately 2,000 screens on 12 October.
For those who need a refresher, the awesome, ridiculous story of Bait is: A freak tsunami traps shoppers inside a flooded coastal Australian supermarket - along with a 12-foot Great White Shark that is hunting them. There's also a subplot involving ruthless store bandits.
No word as to when the sequel will be made or released but perhaps it'll be Bait meets The Raid - sharks in a high rise!
