Every so often the internet comes along and gives you a giant gift of awesome, and the latest addition to this online treasure trove is Wastelander Panda. Put simply:
Wastelander Panda is the tale of Arcayus, the last remaining panda in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
The filmmakers have shot a three-minute Prologue (see below) to their epic story, and after this got traction online (thankyou internet!) they've raised enough funds to shoot three more episodes, which could herald a full series if successful. The plan is to launch these first three episodes at SXSW 2013. Jack White would be impressed by that synchronicity of threes.
I love that Aussies are making this sort of stuff, almost as if Mad Max has become a real part of their history - something they can draw upon as one would draw on any mythology or historical figure. Another one we've seen in a similar vein this year has been Post Apocalyptic Man.
You can watch the Prologue for Wastelander Panda below, and stay tuned for how you can help send Arcayus to SXSW. Because you know he'd own it.
