While major festivals have been less than happy about ongoing, early sneak peek screenings of PT Anderson's The Master effectively blowing up their much desired premiere status, the marketing campaign thus far has been nothing short of, ahem, masterful.
Recognizing full well that the content of the film - viewed by nearly all as a thinly veiled shot at Scientology - will cripple the awards chances of what would otherwise be an absolute magnet for such acclaim, The Weinstein Company have been taking the film to the people instead. And they're doing it with a series of trailers and TV spots that intrigue without giving too much away. Case in point, the latest TV ad.
