Ken Watanabe To Star In Japanese Remake Of Eastwood's UNFORGIVEN
With all of the attention - read: ire - paid to the constantly growing trend of American remakes of international films it is easy to forget that America is far from the only country mining other parts of the world for stories. Today's case in point: An upcoming Japanese remake of Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven.

Backed by Warner Entertainment Japan, director Lee Sang-Il will be at the controls of the project, which will be set in the same time period as the original with the characters re-envisioned as samurai rather than cowboys. Koichi Sate and Akira Emoto will also star with production scheduled to begin in the fall.
