Kung Fu Fighting Conjoined Twins? We Got 'Em! Suriya Surprises With MAATRAN!
My love for Kollywood superstar Suriya is no secret. The guy is not only one of the buffest action heroes in Tamil Nadu, he also oozes charm and charisma like nobody's business. He managed to take the high concept disappointment 7aam Arivu and make it worth watching almost by himself. So, when Suriya is making a film, I keep my eyes and ears open for news.
So, when I heard about Maatran, directed by KV Anand, I was interested. However, soon after the announcement that Maatran was shooting, there was another announcement that Suriya would be following it up with the sequel to his megahit, Singam. At that point, to me, Maatran became "the film I have to wait through to get to Singam 2". However, there is a new development in the Maatran case, and that is the fact that it features TWO SURIYAS AS CONJOINED TWINS!
SERIOUSLY!
AND THEY FIGHT!
HOLY SHIT!
His last film featured Suriya as a circus acrobat with a primordial dwarf as a sidekick, and this one features him as Siamese twins? What the fuck is he going to do to top that? I don't know, but I do know that I'll be there on opening night when he figures it out!
Maatran also features the gorgeous and bubbly Kajal Agarwal, star of Magadheera and the Hindi remake of Suriya's Singam, Ajay Devgn's Singham (with an H). Agarwal hasn't really proved that she can act yet, and there isn't much evidence to the contrary in the trailer, but we'll see. Suriya could be acting opposite flaming paper bags filled with dogshit and I'd give him a shot. Check out the first teaser for Maatran, and prepare to be amazed.
