GROSSE POINT BLANK And HIGH FIDELITY Writer Joins Edgar Wright And Johnny Depp On THE NIGHT STALKER
Will Johnny Depp's other revival of a classic, horror themed television series turn out better than Dark Shadows did? Given the talent package assembling around The Night Stalker, it would appear to have a fighting chance.

Word broke back in February that Shaun Of The Dead director Edgar Wright had signed on to helm the picture and now The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity screenwriter D.V. DeVincentis has been attached to write the script. And while this is certainly a very different world than those presented in his previous work, DeVincentis has proven himself to be a pretty great writer.

Depp will be taking on the title role of Kolchak in the adaptation of the cult hit television series that ran for a single season in 1974 / 1975, taking on the part of a journalist investigating supernatural crimes originally played by Darren McGavin.
