The Directors Of THE RAID And MACABRE Team For SAFE HAVEN
The Raid director Gareth Huw Evans is branching out from action. While fans may rest assured that a sequel to The Raid is indeed int he works he's got something rather different in the works as his next project.

Earlier today Evans tweeted that he was entering pre-production on a project titled Safe Haven, a short film project co-written and to be co-directed by Timo Tjahjanto with production scheduled to begin in June. Best known as one half of The Mo Brothers, Tjahjanto is one of the duo behind blood soaked Indonesian horror picture Macabre and appears solo as part of The ABCs Of Death horror anthology.

So, when an action guy and a horror guy get together, what happens? Well, they're keeping the plot details firmly under wraps but I have been cleared to say that I've had a peek at the first draft and it is absolutely fantastic. Safe Haven very definitely falls on the horror end of the spectrum though it is significantly different from anything either director has done in the past.

Once production is complete on Safe Haven Evans will move on to pre-production for The Raid sequel Berandal while Tjahjanto moves on to his next Mo Brothers feature, titled Killers. Once those projects are wrapped the duo will reunite for revenge thriller feature The Night Comes For Us.
