Chilling First Teaser For Icelandic Horror FROST
Yes, I made a bad cold joke in relation to upcoming Icelandic horror film Frost. But, please, do not hold my bad pun against Reynir Lyngdal's creation because this looks very good indeed.

A young couple, physiologist Agla and filmmaker Gunnar wake up at a glacier drilling camp only to find the camp mysteriously abandoned and their co-workers gone. When searching for the lost team they realize they're up against an unknown, deadly force.
Every time people get to moaning about how tired the found footage style of horror film is something comes along that reminds that when done correctly the approach can ratchet the tension up to the stratosphere and this looks to be one of those films. Making fabulous use of a hostile, yet beautiful, climate this one looks to be head and shoulders above the pack.

Twitch is proud to premiere the first teaser for the film - English subtitled, of course - below. Turn the lights down and the volume up.

It looks basically like Blear Witch meet The Thing ...

At least John Carpenter made with a steady camera and the "monster" in full view and bright light ...

I am also tired of POV cam horror, ADHD video, blah blah blah. Mitigating that is the fact that I am so super happy to see a movie about a cold place that isn't colored all blue. Kudos! The screen-cap above is so beautiful I'll gladly go see this, even if it does turn out to be just the newest kneejerk visual gibberish!

Yeah, the use of location in this looks absolutely breath taking. They shot it all on location on a glacier in Iceland in the middle of winter so there's no faking any of it ...

Yeah they probably had the worst weather they could have when they shot it. So bad that they had to halt production for one day and get everyone to safety.
So at least the film will have production value in spades.

Good to see you back on Twitch, Todd. I've been wondering your opinion of a few of the films other writers have covered here. Wish you were more prolific, as I value your opinion more than the others.

That said, I can't say I'm too intrigued by this teaser. Been taken in too many times by these "found footage" films. Maybe an extended trailer will pique my interest further.

Thanks, man! I love the chances I get to travel these days but it's always good to get back home and back in the saddle.
