IMAGINE 2012 Winners Revealed, and THE RAID Scores the Audience Award!
This weekend saw the end of the 2012 edition of the Imagine Film Festival in Amsterdam, a member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF).

Several films were awarded in different categories but the Sp!ts Silver Scream Award 2012 went to Indonesian actioner "The Raid", about which you might have heard a thing or two on this here page.

In fact, so much has already been said about the film and the fact that our founding father Todd Brown has an executive producer credit for it, that I was tempted to not even mention it. But the audience rating was a whopping 9.3 out of 10 so that makes it a bit hard to ignore. To put that into perspective: all the other films in the top 12 were rated between an 8.0 and an 8.5, and this for an audience which is known to be picky.
Congrats to Gareth and the rest of the cast and crew are in order!

And here is an overview of the Jury awarded prizes:

Black Tulip Award (Dutch professional film critics)
"Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal"

Silver Méliès Award (Festival award)
"Sleep Tight (Mientras Duermes)"

Méliès d'Argent (Festival Award, short European movie)
"Feed Me (Voed Mij)"

Imagine MovieSquad Award (Young critics jury)
"Der Sandmann"

Stan Lee got presented with a Career Achievement Award and although he wasn't present in person he did record the video message below.
