UNLUCKY STARS Teaser Brings Back Old School Hong Kong Action
Unfortunately, the current state of the Martial arts genre has been lacking as far as theatrical release films being locally produced in America.  In these dry climate, I often turn to the indie scene to get my fix for skilled-driven action from the fan filmmakers who truly understands and appreciate this art form.  Among these people is the production crew behind Unlucky Stars, an indie martial arts comedy that pays homage to 80's Hong Kong action cinema, specifically Sammo Hung's Lucky Stars trilogy.  It not only showcase old-school hands-on fight choreography but it will also challenge the "fast-farward-to-the-fight-scene" attitude of this genre with quality plot and well-rounded characters.

The cast includes Dennis Ruel, Ken Quitugua, Sari Sabella, Jose Montesinos, Roy Chen, Edward Kahana, Giovannie Espiritu, Steven Yu, Vladislav Rimburg, Sam Hargrave, Emmanuel Manzanares, and Shawn Bernal.
When Peru's Biggest Action Film Star and Jordan's newest rising talent find themselves pursued by a notorious Bookie, a couple of private investigators are forced to choose between their job and their conscience.

With martial arts and comedy inspired by the golden era of 80s Hong Kong Action Cinema, "Unlucky Stars" is an exciting action packed ride that pays homage to the greats who paved the way.
The production is still in-progress as we speak and it seeks funding so if you like to provide support, you can donate here. You'll find the teaser and the Indiegogo campaign video embedded below.
