John Hawkes Takes The Lead In JACKIE BROWN Prequel THE SWITCH
Now, before anybody gets too excited it needs to be stated right up front that, no, Quentin Tarantino has no hand in this nor, at this stage, would it appear that any of his Jackie Brown cast are coming back. What this is, however, is a fresh adaptation of Elmore Leonard's crime novel The Switch - a novel that involves characters from the Leonard penned Rum Punch - Tarantino's source for Jackie Brown - fifteen years prior to the events of that book.

John Hawkes and yasiin bey will play Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie in the new film written and to be directed by Dan Schechter. Older versions of the same characters were played by Robert DeNiro and Samuel L Jackson in Tarantino's film.

Here's how publisher Harper Collins describes the story:

Ordell Robbie and Louis Gara hit it off in prison, where they were both doing time for grand theft auto. Now that they're out, they're joining forces for one big score. The plan is to kidnap the wife of a wealthy Detroit developer and hold her for ransom. But they didn't figure the lowlife husband wouldn't want his lady back. So it's time for Plan B and the opportunity to make a real killing -- with the unlikely help of a beautiful, ticked-off housewife who's hungry for a large helping of sweet revenge.
