EFM 2012: Aron Gauder's THE DISTRICT (NYOCKER) Converted To 3D
Whatever you may think of 3D post-conversion in the case of Aron Gauder's The District it may provide an opportunity for more fans to find the film.

A Hungarian musical satire that riffs on Romeo And Juliet and American foreign policy, The District has been a big favorite in these parts for years now. But despite premiering at a-list festivals around the world - Toronto and Karlovy Vary - the film has achieved only very limited distribution. Gauder has spent the time since working his long gestating Egill project which should have left The District purely in the past.

Except it's coming back now thanks to a new 3D conversion of the film - technology which should mesh very well with Gauder's layered cutout style.
