Contest: Three Copies of IN TIME Up For Grabs

Fox has passed along three copies of the sci-fi thriller In Time--one on Blu-ray and two on DVD in conjunction with the feature below about past movies centered on time. Read on and find the details at the bottom about how to win a copy of the disc.

In the year 2161, time has become the ultimate currency and genetic alteration has allowed people to stop aging at 25 years old. Upon reaching 25, the countdown begins and in order to stay alive everyone must work to buy themselves more time or die within a year. When a struggling young man, Will Salas (Justin Timberlake), comes in contact with a "millionaire," he is gifted more time than he can imagine. Falsely accused of murder, Will is a fugitive on the run and becomes determined to bring down the entire system by any means possible.

Will, Borel and their other cohorts always moved extremely quickly since time was such a valuable asset to them. However, they weren't the only subjects of films wherein time played a key role in the plot. Here, we will take a look at some other movies where the subject of time was a vital element to the story, including Back to the Future, High Noon and Donnie Darko. Answer the trivia question at the bottom to be entered in to win a copy of the DVD too!

Back to the Future

Michael J. Fox stars in Back to the Future as Marty McFly, a teenager who is accidentally sent back in time from 1985 to 1955 via a time machine made out of a DeLorean by his eccentric friend, Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd). Once stranded in the past, Marty accidentally ruins his parents-to-be meeting, and his future-mother becomes attracted to him. This puts him and his siblings' existence at risk, and so Marty must devise a plan to make his future-parents fall in love, and find a way to return home to 1985.

Groundhog Day

In 1993's Groundhog Day, Bill Murray stars as Phil, an egocentric weatherman who - much to his chagrin - is in Punxsutawney to cover Groundhog Day. Unfortunately for Phil, he finds that the day keeps repeating itself, so his most hated day of the year becomes his entire life! After becoming a crook, a glutton, and attempting suicide numerous times, Phil begins to try to make his life better, taking piano lessons and learning foreign languages, in order to help him woo his beautiful news producer, Rita (Andie MacDowell).

High Noon

1952's timeless film, High Noon, stars Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly. This classic western, which is told in real time, is the story of Will Kane's (Cooper) race against the clock to find help in defending himself and his town from the criminal Frank Miller and his gang. Kane's pacifist new bride, Amy (Kelly), has also given him an ultimatum, saying she will be leaving town on the noon train, with or without him. As time winds down, Kane is forced to face the gang alone - but will he live to tell the tale?

Time Bandits

Time Bandits is a 1981 film written and directed by Monty Python alum Terry Gilliam. In it, Kevin, a child with a huge imagination, goes on a time-traveling adventure with a group of treasure-hunting dwarves. The dwarves have "borrowed" a map to the universe's time holes from The Supreme Being, and they are on the run from him. Along the way, they meet cool historical and mythical figures, like Napoleon, Robin Hood and King Agamemnon.

Donnie Darko

2001's Donnie Darko is the tale of a troubled teenager, Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal), who has a scarring vision that the world will end in 28 days. With help from an array of characters - including a 6-foot scary rabbit named Frank - he slowly begins to discover the mysterious physical and metaphysical laws that direct his life and that will ultimately lead to the destruction of the universe. In addition to being one of the best time travel films of all time, it also has a fantastic soundtrack!
