Sunny Pang Kicks Some Ass In The Trailer For James Lee's THE COLLECTOR
Having built his name largely on the back of a string of acclaimed indie dramas and mainstream horror pictures of both the serious and comedy varieties, Malaysia's James Lee is getting into action in a big way with his back to back efforts The Collector and Petaling Street Warriors.

While Petaling Street Warriors mines the period comedy tropes that made Kung Fu Hustle and others such big hits The Collector is an entirely contemporary effort. Sunny Pang stars as an aging debt collector for a small time loan shark, a man whose awareness that he's getting too old for this life is driven home first by a warning from a local fortune teller, and then by his discovery of a young boy targeted by a rival gang.

There's a highly localized comedy element to the film that is going to limit it somewhat internationally but Pang is an engaging performer, one who brings some soul to the part while also showing off a rough and tumble fight style that serves him well given the film's tight production schedule.

A trailer for The Collector turned up a little while ago but just crossed our desk now. Check it below.
