Toronto's Free Friday Films Fall Schedule
Don't despair Toronto cinephiles! While there are only a few more days of TIFF left, the University of Toronto's Cinema Studies Student Union (CINSSU) has just announced their fall line-up for their popular Free Friday Films series and its guaranteed to give you your necessary film fix, before the pangs of withdrawal set in. As always the series is eclectically curated, balancing both cult and art-house fare, and as always every film is screened on FILM. Most exciting is the film society's recent partnership with the French Consulate in Toronto, which is making a double bill of Jean-Pierre Melville films possible. According to CINSSU president Luke Kuplowsky, this new partnership has ensured their ability to bring in rare prints of French titles from Europe and that we can expect to see a whole lot more double bills of French auteurs in future programmes.
