Fantastic Fest 2011: WB to Remake SLEEPLESS NIGHT

After a successful run at TIFF's Midnight Madness and a well liked first screening at Fantastic Fest, THR is reporting that Warner Bros. and producer Roy Lee have secured the remake rights to French night club actioner Sleepless Night. The film, directed by Frederic Jardin, stars Tomer Sisley as a crooked cop fighting his way through a nightclub after a drug heist gone bad lands his son kidnapped. A tight contained script with a bit of a Die Hard feel, the film was ripe for pickings by a Hollywood studio. Lee is well known for producing high profile remakes with The Departed on his resume as well as the upcoming remake of Old Boy.
