Fantastic Fest 2011: FIRST WAVE ANNOUNCED!
There are three things certain in this world. Death and taxes and that Fantastic Fest is the most ass kicking festival there is. And you can take that to the bank!

The first wave of titles featured at this year's festival, from September 22nd-29th, have been announced and as before there are brand spanking new films along with restored classics.
Here are some select titles but head on over to the official Fantastic Fest web site for more substantial info.

The world's first 3D spaghetti western making it's world premier at the festival, COMING AT YA! 3D. Never mind that it's almost 30 years old. This is the first time this literarily "In Your Face" western will be shown the way it was meant to be seen.

NEW KIDS TURBO!
Absolutely bug nuts comedy from the Netherlands making its US debut. Stupid, loud, incredibly offensive but above all funny as hell.

Twitch favorite BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW will be making its regional premier. This throw back sci-fi head trip has allot of people buzzing and looks incredible.

Japan, or Asia seems to be the theme this year, if I'm judging the poster art and many of these first wave titles correctly. We got loving tales of a boy and his artificial sex toy girl, bestiality, Alien Bikini's, samurai musicals, Kappa love and martial art zombies. Everything that growing film fan needs.

BLUE UNDERGROUND will be hosting screenings of new 2K transfers of a couple of Lucio Fulci classics, HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY and ZOMBIE, something no gore hound should miss and Tak Sakaguchi and Yudai Yamaguchi will grace us with their presence and celebrate the 10th anniversary screening of their breakout hit VERSUS.

There are plenty of more titles and trailers over at the FF site so head on over there and shiver with anticipation.
