The Adventures of Kevin Bacon in Thailand. ELEPHANT WHITE Trailer.
After the success of Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong on the international scene it was only a matter of time when the US studios would come knocking on director Prachya Pinkaew's door asking him to recreate the success on their terms. Prachya teamed up with Millennium Films, connoisseurs of B-grade action schlock and the result is the straight to video flick Elephant White, a rousing tale of assassins, ass kicking, bullets to the face and Kevin Bacon putting on an English accent for some reason.

We have the first trailer for the film which will be released on May 17th and while some of it looks good I can't get over the accent of mister Bacon and wonder what the idea was behind that choice.
Take a look see below.

All the right elements, but still not Black Lagoon.

No offense to Kevin Bacon and Djimon Hounsou, but give me the gun girls.

I love Prachya Pinkaew films big time. But why oh why does hollywood use the same ole re-tread of the ebony and ivory protagonists? so sad and i will skip this one thank you much. I'd rather see ong-bak or chocolate over again and again than rent this "amercian flavored crapola" with thailand as the backdrop.

movie is not convincing enough but Djimon is good:)

Actually, I'm really liking seeing from Bacon in that trailer. I read "accent" and went oh crap, but it's awesome. Almost like a completely different voice for him.

Is it an English accent or an Australian accent? Or somewhere in between?

I thought it sounded more Australian than British...

Funny accents notwithstanding, this looks pretty sweet. You can't go wrong with Bacon and Hounsou.
