New Trailer For Hong Kong's 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY
A new trailer for Stephen Siu's upcoming Hong Kong bit of naughtiness 3D Sex And Zen: Extreme Ecstasy. And while the film very much is what you think it is - enough so that Siu had to hire Japanese AV starlets Saori Hara and Yukiko Suho for the female leads, with Hong Kong's Vonnie Lu as, I believe, the only local - it's also a good bit more than that, with a playful bit of action layered in as well.

The initial full trailer played up the sex end of things - the uncensored version of that trailer is here - while this new one opts for something saucy but entirely safe for general viewing, indulging in goofy 3D effects rather than in adult pleasures. And from the looks of things the use of 3D is going to be every bit as exploitative as the use of flesh.

This looks realy bad, although i may check it out if the sex and nudity is done in an extremely sleazy and exploitative way??? If not then whats the point?

My experience with the "Sex and Zen" series is that when I approach these films as classics or dramas or whatever, they disappoint bitterly.

However, when I approach them as sleazy and exploitative softcore (which can be fun at times) I am always pleasantly surprised by the workmanshiplike filmmaking. Good camerawork, gaudy sets and costumes, crowd scenes (I mean REGULAR crowd scenes, not orgies), good lighting... things never look cheap. Production values are quite high on these films, and you do note several better-known actors to appear in them.
