Sundance 2011: Trailer For Nicholas McCarthy's Short Film THE PACT
Though most of the short films at Sundance are presented in programs with other shorts a select few are paired with feature presentations where the content seems to be fitting. Such is the case with The Pact, a short ghost story by Nicholas McCarthy which will screen in advance of Calvin Lee Reeder's The Oregonian.

As a woman struggles to come to grips with her past in the wake of her mother's death, an unsettling presence emerges in her childhood home.
Firefly's Jewel Staite stars in this one - and, seriously, why have we not seen more of this woman? - which the director says is intended as an homage to his two favorite directors: Val Lewton and Dario Argento. You can get a brief taste with the trailer below.
