Meet THE BEAVER
The trailer for Jodie Foster's The Beaver has arrived online and, well, it's pretty much as odd as you would expect a serious-minded movie about a man who speaks only through a beaver puppet as a way of coping with depression to be. The thing is it also looks fabulously well acted and I'm starting to wonder if Mel Gibson's meltdown might actually prove a benefit to the film in the long run. Without Gibson's outburst this would most likely go down as an unsellable oddity featuring two very high profile talents. With it the film is going to draw a lot of curiosity seekers who may not otherwise have ponied up for a ticket. So well done, Mel. Your drunken, racist, violent outburst may prove to be effective marketing for the movie in which you play a man with severe mental health problems.
