More Fists To The Face Than Any Other Festival Ever! ACTIONFEST Is Returning!
Ladies and gentlemen, ActionFest is returning. After a successful launch in 2010 and with Toronto International Film Festival Midnight Madness programmer Colin Geddes now taking the reins as Festival Director things are gearing up for the 2011 edition. Advisers are advising, plans are being bandied about and films are being waded through. And to get you all in the mood a sizzle reel showcasing films and events from 2010 has just arrived on the official festival website. Check it below.

wow nice to see they are soldiering on despite the (from what i heard?) lack of turnout at the first one, cause they certainly had a good lineup. and i dont mean to hold it against them that (reportedly) not a lot of people showed up... it was a niche festival in the middle of nowhere in its first year that didnt solidify its schedule until very close to the event, which made it hard for regular fans to travel to it. looking forward to seeing what they do next year.

I wasn't able to make it last year, but if the lineup is anything like last year's, there's no way I'll be missing this one. Looks like it was a blast. Todd, were you there?

Yup. I was on the jury. It's true that attendance was low - there were problems with the marketing and PR in year one that have been fixed this time out - but the event itself was a blast. All of last year's jurors are actually involved in the fest again this year - Colin Geddes as fest director with Devin Faraci, Drew McWeeney and myself involved as advisors - along with Rodney Perkins, Jeff Wright, Matthew Kiernan and a few other really solid people. We're already tossing titles around for next year's lineup and it's going to be good. Feel free to make suggestions if there's something you're dying to see!

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

Actually, a movie just came to mind. I wouldn't mind seeing Benny Chan's Shaolin. How would I go about making suggestions?

I believe you just did. Fire away any ideas here and I'll make sure they're on the tracking list. Can't say we'll actually be able to get them all but we'll do our best ...

Another one just came to mind. Bangkok Knockout is out now, right?
