Even an 'Outcast' has a North American home at Indomina Releasing
We`re quite smitten with Colm and Tom McCarthy`s Celtic horror Outcast offering festival goers a glimpse into ancient Celtic occult and mysticism. Or maybe it was just Hanna Stanbridge? No. It was more than her. Though hampered by some less than stellar effects near the end of the film we were nonetheless impressed with the strength of Colm's direction and vision. Outcast is one of a few impressive and promising offerings in genre cinema to come out of the U.K. recently.  And anyone not able to see this film on the festival circuit probably/maybe will get a chance to see it now that Indomina Releasing has the North American rights for the film.

"A crowd favorite at this year's SXSW and Screamfest LA, Colm McCarthy's OUTCAST presents a suspenseful twist to horror cinema," said Singh Mann.  "OUTCAST brings another dimension to the Indomina brand, demonstrating once again that Indomina is the premiere destination for genre based content."

Some day, Idomina Releasing is going to tell us what their plans are for all these acquisitions they have been making over the past few months. Until then they're reminding me of another company that did a lot of buying and sitting, sitting and buying, buying and sitting. Mir... Mira... Mira-something. Oh, the name is there on the tip of my tongue. Don`t you hate it when that happens?

INDOMINA RELEASING GOES FOR OUTCAST

LOS ANGELES, (Date) - Indomina Releasing, a new distributor of feature films, acquired all North American rights to the Scottish horror film, OUTCAST from international sales agent, Bankside Films.  OUTCAST, starring James Nesbitt (Bloody Sunday), Kate Dickie (Red Road) and Niall Bruton, was directed by Colm McCarthy, written by McCarthy and Tom McCarthy, produced by Eddie Dick, Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell, and executive produced by Phil Hunt and Compton Ross. Indomina Releasing's Vice President of Acquisitions Rob Williams and Bankside Films' Head of Sales and Marketing Stephen Kelliher negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers. The deal was announced today by Jasbinder Singh Mann, C.E.O. of Indomina Group, overseeing global operations.

"We are delighted that Indomina Releasing will be handling OUTCAST in North America," said Kelliher. "They are a new and exciting company with lots of ambition, and we have been impressed by their passion, enthusiasm and clear understanding of the business. We look forward to OUTCAST being part of their future success."

Taking place in modern day Edinburgh, Scotland, OUTCAST unmasks an ancient Celtic society, where black magic exists.  Mary (Kate Dickie), a witch with extraordinary strength, is on the run as she tries to protect her son, Fergal (Niall Bruton), from a dangerous hunter (James Nesbitt) assigned to kill them to hide the truth of their past.
