The Trailer For Sofia Coppola's SOMEWHERE Arrives. Is The Former Indie-Darling Back On Form?
The poorly conceived flop that was Marie Antoinette may have taken some of the bloom from Sofia Coppola's rose but the director who rose to prominence with the carefully nuanced Virgin Suicides and Lost In Translation looks to be back on more familiar ground with Somewhere.

Writer/director Sofia Coppola reunites with the film company with which she made the Academy Award-winning hit "Lost in Translation." Her new film is an intimate story set in contemporary Los Angeles; Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff) is a bad-boy actor stumbling through a life of excess at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood. With an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter (Elle Fanning), Johnny is forced to look at the questions we must all confront.
Not only does Coppola look to be back on peak form with this one but thanks to the inspired casting of Stephen Dorff - himself a poster boy for squandered talent and missed opportunity - her leading man may very well wind up experiencing a bit of an upswing after this. Yes, it's just a trailer, but it's a good one.
